Job summary

PruittHealth is hiring a Maintenance role at The Oaks at Whitaker Glen in North Carolina. The incumbent will assist in repairs and routine maintenance of the center’s physical structure to meet federal, state, and local regulations and internal guidelines.

Responsibilities include operating HVAC systems, plumbing repairs, electrical work, fire safety checks, and general upkeep. The role requires at least 2 years of maintenance experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance of air conditioners/heaters.
• Uses pressure washer as requested.
• Uses electrical tools and equipment (voltmeter, drills, saws).
• Performs water temperature tests as scheduled.
• Tests fire alarm systems as needed.
• Maintains and repairs plumbing tasks (unclogging hair traps, toilets, pipes).
• Maintains electrical outlets and lighting; rewires or replaces wiring in equipment.
• Installs/checks batteries in smoke alarms.
• Assists in fire drills and extinguisher checks.
• Paints interior/exterior; wallpapering may be included.
• Maintains grounds (garbage-free, mowing, trimming).
• Performs unscheduled maintenance and generator testing.
• Supports major cleaning projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Assists in repairs and maintenance of physical structure of nursing center in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and our established procedural guidelines, and as may be directed by supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance of air conditioners/heaters.
• Uses pressure washer as requested.
• Uses electrical tools and equipment when appropriate. (Including voltmeter, drills, saws, etc.)
• 4.. Performs water temperature tests as requested/scheduled.
• Tests fire alarm systems as scheduled/needed.
• Tests fire safety equipment as scheduled/needed
• Completes general maintenance, plumbing repair, replacing and unclogging hair traps, unplugging toilets, repairing washers and dryer, replacing broken pipes/water lines etc.
• Maintains and replaces electrical outlets and light bulbs and rewires or replaces wiring in various equipment used by the center.
• Installs and checks batteries of smoke alarms.
• Assists in fire drills. Also checks extinguishers and assists fire Marshall with inspection.
• Paints interior or exterior of center as requested/needed. Also, may include wallpapering.
• Maintains the grounds of the center to provide that they are free of garbage; also, may include mowing of lawn, trimming hedges, weeding, etc.
• Performs unscheduled maintenance tasks as requested.
• Performs generator testing and routine maintenance as scheduled/needed.
• Assists with major cleaning projects as requested/needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum 2 years experience

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate or equivalent.
