Job summary

Infosys Limited is seeking a Technology Consultant 2 to contribute to requirements elicitation, software design discussions, and coding efforts for mainframe and API-based applications. The role emphasizes maintaining stability and high quality through code reviews, test strategies, and production issue resolution.

The position requires strong collaboration across cross-functional teams, experience with SDLC (Waterfall/Agile), and familiarity with mainframe testing tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in mainframe testing including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and CICS.
• Experience in SDLC methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).
• Experience with mainframe job schedules, batch cycles, abend analysis and test data setup.

Responsibilities

In the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided
• Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability
• Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories
• Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications
• Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projects

Required Skill and Experience

• Experience in Mainframe application testing involving COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, batch processing, online transactions, file validation, and interface testing.
• Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (Waterfall and Agile methodologies).
• Experience in Mainframe job schedules, batch cycles, abend analysis, restart procedures, and test data setup.
• Experience in TSO/ISPF, SDSF, File-AID, Xpediter, Endeavor, Control-M, CA-7, or equivalent tools.
• Experience in defect management and test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or QMetry.

Preferred Skill and Experience

• Experience in Test Automation, Service Virtualization, API Testing by Postman, and Regression Automation.
• Experience in Banking, financial services, payments, cards, insurance, or legacy mainframe applications.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.

Estimated annual compensation range for candidate based in the below location will be:

Mount Laurel, NJ. $68,919 to $89,595
