Job summary

enGen is seeking a Mainframe Storage Administrator to join the IT Mainframe Storage Management Team. You will learn and assist with the implementation of all Mainframe Storage hardware and software and participate in the weekly on-call rotation.

Responsibilities include analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, while collaborating with IT, product, analytics and business teams to meet organizational needs and stay current with industry practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, as well as providing production support.
  • 3 years of technical problem solving and collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, code, test and implement technical solutions with minimal defects.
  • Collaborate with IT, product, analytics and business teams to gather requirements.
  • Monitor progress against production schedule and report issues to leadership.
  • Document processes and participate in reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate on design and implementation with architecture to align with enterprise goals.
  • Perform technical analysis and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

As part of the IT Mainframe Storage Management Team, the Mainframe Storage Administrator will learn and work with members of the IT Mainframe Storage Team on researching, evaluating, designing, developing and implementing mainframe infrastructure systems by applying engineering, hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organizational strategies.

The primary job duties will be to learn and assist with the implementation of all the Mainframe Storage Hardware and Software. Learn and assist with all the day-to-day Mainframe Storage Operations. Assure compliance to required standards, procedures, guidelines and processes. Participate in the weekly Oncall rotation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for one or many of the following tasks: analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, as well as providing general production monitoring and support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, product, analytics, and business teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions that meet organizational needs
  • Monitor work against production schedule and provide progress updates and report any issues or technical difficulties to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Document technical processes and procedures, and participate in technical reviews and knowledge sharing sessions
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of with architecture to ensure solution alignment to enterprise goals and standards
  • Perform technical analysis and provide insights to support decision-making across various departments
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest relevant technologies and industry best practices
  • Other duties as assigned or requested
EXPERIENCE
Required
  • 3 years of experience in one or many of the following tasks: analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, as well as providing general production support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects
  • 3 years of technical problem solving, solution implementation, team/project collaboration experience
  • 3 years of basic computer science concepts and principles, common operating systems, development languages/scripting
Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience with TS77XX and DS88XX Storage Devices
  • 1-3 years of experience with OAM, SRDF, CSM, GDPS, Dino UPM
  • 1-3 years of experience with IBM Spectrum Suite Products
  • 1-3 years of experience with other 3rd-Party Vendor Storage Products
  • Service Now Software Product for Problem, Change and Incident Management
  • LINUX and SKLM experience are a definite plus

EDUCATION
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

Pay Range Minimum

$79,300.00

Pay Range Maximum

$127,100.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
