Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Mainframe Software Engineer to support the Recall Suite of Applications and migrate workloads to Google Cloud Platform. You will develop, test, and maintain mainframe COBOL/JCL applications, provide production support, and collaborate with global teams to deliver critical functionality.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, on-call incident handling, and experience with z/OS Connect, DB2, and APIs.

Qualifications

7+ years of mainframe application development, design, analysis, and support.
2+ years of experience with z/OS Connect, SFTP, SOAP/REST APIs, and system-to-system integrations.
Experience with source code management tools like Endeavor and GitHub.

Responsibilities

Serve as a core member of FCSDTech/Service Quality team supporting Recall and Software FSA apps.
Provide production support including on-call rotation and incident resolution.
Develop and implement features to support compliance and regulatory requirements.
Partner with Product Owners, Product Managers, and engineering teams to deliver critical functionality.
Prioritize product backlog items to support enhancements and operations.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve defects while supporting backlog prioritization.
Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe COBOL and JCL apps.
Participate in modernization efforts including cloud migration and system integration.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure delivery.
Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure quality and reliability.
Support security reviews, audit activities, and operational health monitoring.
