Job summary

Toyota of Puyallup is hiring a Main Shop Technician at a pay rate of $22.50 to $37.00 per hour, depending on Toyota Certification status. The role may be hourly or flat rate based on experience and certifications, with a long-standing, family-owned shop culture in Washington state.

Responsibilities include performing skilled repairs, diagnosing issues, estimating costs, and maintaining high customer satisfaction. ASE certification is encouraged and tools must be provided by the technician.

Qualifications

• Toyota Certification required.

• Knowledge of techniques to diagnose vehicles.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance inspection techniques.
• Ability to perform skilled repair work on automotive equipment.
• Ability to operate complex computerized diagnostic equipment.

• Perform skilled repair work on automotive equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and operating problems in automotive equipment.
• Maintain customer satisfaction scores at or above company standards.
• Estimate cost of repairs.
• Document services performed.
• Follow Fix It Right the First Time standards and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Follow dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
• Advance/maintain ASE standards.
• Request necessary parts.
• Follow safeguard rules and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Rare opportunity to join our tenured service team as an either hourly or flat rate Main Shop Technician depending on experience and Toyota certifications. Pay: $22.50 - $37.00 per hour depending on Toyota Certification status.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to perform skilled repair work on automotive equipment
• Diagnose mechanical and operating problems in automotive equipment
• Maintain customer satisfaction scores at or above company standards
• Estimate cost of repairs
• Document services performed
• Follow “Fix It Right the First Time” standards, ensuring quality repairs and cleanliness of vehicles
• Follow dealership and manufacturer service guidelines
• Advance/maintain ASE standards
• Request necessary parts
• Follow safeguard rules and regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS:

• Toyota Certification required
• High level of motivation and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed
• Working knowledge of techniques/procedures to diagnose vehicles
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance inspection techniques
• Ability to perform skilled repair work on automotive equipment
• Ability to operate complex computerized diagnostic equipment
• Professional appearance

• Valid Washington State driver’s license and clean driving record
