Job summary

Batesville Tool and Die, Inc. (BTD) in Batesville, IN, is seeking a Sorting/Rework Associate to support production by sorting and reworking parts, recording results in Plex, and following standard work instructions.

GED or high school equivalency is required; forklift license if needed. No experience is required. You will work under safety rules with PPE and may be scheduled for overtime or varied shifts to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to precisely grasp sorting techniques and use Go/NoGo gauges for sorting.
• Accurately completes paperwork and enters results in Plex.
• Capable of locating and following Verification sort SWIs in Plex.
• Performs sorting tasks with speed and accuracy; maintains safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rework parts following standard procedures.
• Enter results in Plex and maintain accurate records.
• Inspect parts using gauges and ensure correct labeling and documentation.
• Move parts to appropriate areas using forklift and maintain main hold organization.
• Adhere to safety rules, 5S, and lean manufacturing principles.

Purpose of Job:

This position reports to the Production Verification Group Leader and Quality Manager and is responsible for sorting and reworking parts.

Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses:

This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. Forklift license if required.

Minimum experience required:

No experience is required.

Requirements

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Ability to precisely grasp sorting techniques.
2. Specifically use simplified gages (flush pins, Go/NoGo, etc) for sorting.
3. Accurately completes paperwork at the end of each sort and enter results in Plex.
4. Capability to effectively look Verification sort Standard Work Instructions (SWI) up in Plex.
5. Perform sorting task with speed and accuracy.
6. Ability to competently scrap parts in Plex and reprint new label.
7. Accurately splits and merges labels and reprint new label.
8. One Main Hold Associate needs to be licensed and completely able to use a forklift to move parts in and out of main hold area, keep main hold organized, and moving parts to group sort areas.
9. Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

Environmental: Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool and Die, Inc. (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.
