Job summary

Magnolia Press in Waco, Texas is seeking a Barista who delivers prompt service and quality beverages while maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. You will follow approved recipes, educate guests about the menu, and handle cash wrap and POS duties efficiently.

This role reports to the Store Manager, requires a friendly demeanor during peak periods, and may support other Silos Foods entities as needed. Availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays and a Food Handler's license are required.

Qualifications

At Magnolia, the Barista is responsible for creating the Magnolia Press experience for our guests by providing prompt service and quality beverages, as well as maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, in line with the Magnolia brand. Baristas may also assist at other Magnolia foods entities as business needs require it. This position works from Magnolia Press in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Store Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Perform cash wrap and point of sale duties in an efficient and timely manner
• Educate guests by presenting and explaining the menu and answering questions
• Prepare and sell food and drink products by following approved recipes, preparation, and cooking or baking techniques; ensuring that all equipment is properly utilized per recipe and safety guidelines*
• Prepare ingredients for each recipe by chopping, dicing, slicing, washing, and using additional techniques as needed
• Handle, prepare, and store food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with all food safety standards*
• Finish all product to specific visual requirements in accordance with Magnolia standards
• Communicate with management regarding status of products, quality control issues, problems with equipment, or unusual conditions; adhering to established loss prevention and inventory control procedures*

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The employee routinely uses sinks, ovens, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
