Job summary

Milliken & Company is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for the Magnolia site in Blacksburg, SC. The Technician reports to the Building Maintenance Engineer and ensures safe, expedient service to facility equipment to maximize efficiency and quality in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include servicing fire systems, coordinating with outside contractors, and following permitting procedures to maintain plant reliability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and participate in Milliken safety processes.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for servicing.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and learn permitting processes.
• Able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and operate motorized equipment.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Maintain plant facilities including restrooms
• Provide scheduled maintenance, inspections and audits of maintenance equipment
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of building maintenance equipment
• Read manuals and work orders to perform equipment service
• Assist engineering associates to keep production machinery in working order
• Inform management of potential mechanical problems and dangers
• Assist maintenance staff with troubleshooting
• Other duties as requested by management

Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

This position is located at the Milliken - Magnolia site in Blacksburg, SC. The Technician reports to the Building Maintenance Engineer. This position is responsible for working safely to provide expedient service to the facility's equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and quality performance involved with manufacturing and processing our products. The position requires the ability to service and maintain the plants fire systems to include but not limited to sprinkler systems, fire pumps, FM200, and dry powered suppression systems and devises. The position requires the ability to work with outside contractors and to learn and use the outside contractor permitting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
• Maintain plant facilities to include restrooms
• Provide scheduled maintenance repairs, inspections and audits of building maintenance equipment and maintain records as required.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of building maintenance equipment
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required equipment service
• Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order
• Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
• Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting
• Other duties as requested by management

• Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting
• Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, scissor lift and articulating boom lift, etc.)
• Ability to work from heights

Pay Rate: 22.55-25.02
