Job summary

McLaren Health in Michigan is seeking an MRI Technologist under the supervision of the area Lead Technologist to perform Magnetic Resonance examinations for diagnostic purposes. You will work with radiologists to deliver high-quality images while ensuring patient safety in the MRI suite.

The role includes intravenous gadolinium contrast administration, maintaining QA/QC records, and enforcing MRI safety protocols in line with ACR guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current ARRT certification and/or registration; CPR certification.
• One year of MRI Technologist experience preferred.
• Current MRI registry preferred or must obtain ARRT MRI registration within one year.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI examinations according to Radiologist instructions and aims for high-quality diagnostic images.
• Administers gadolinium contrast intravenously based on patient age, weight and procedure type.
• Keeps accurate QA/QC records, including MRI scanner warm-up.
• Monitors MRI area for non-MRI safe objects to ensure a safe magnetic field environment.
• Screens entrants into the restricted MRI area per ACR guidelines.

Job description

Under general supervision of the area Lead Technologist, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance examinations on patients as prescribed by physicians to provide quality procedures regarding patient condition for diagnostic purpose. This position is responsible for assisting with daily operations, administration of contrast agents for diagnostic procedures, and is responsible for the safety of any person entering the magnetic field under their care.

Responsibilities:

• Performs Magnetic Resonance images according to Radiologist instructions, as is evidenced by high quality diagnostic images.
• Administers appropriate Gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously, according to patient's age, weight, and type of procedure being performed.
• Keeps accurate QA /QC records, including MRI scanner warm-up.
• Monitors the presence of non-MRI safe objects or equipment in the restricted MRI area to ensure a safe MRI magnetic field environment for patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
• Screens all persons entering the restricted MRI area in accordance with ACR guidelines.

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current certification and/or registration by the ARRT, C.P.R. certification.
• One (1) year experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
• Current MRI registry preferred or must become registered through ARRT in MRI within one year of date of hire.
