Job summary

Roblox is seeking a senior Data Science & Engineering professional to build macroeconomic models that guide the virtual economy. You will analyze Robux dynamics, design policy simulations, and partner with Product and Finance to shape strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes quantitative methods, large-scale data, and clear communication of complex trade-offs to executives. Onsite in San Mateo with equity and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years applying quantitative economic modeling, econometrics, or simulation to policy, marketplaces, or user behavior.
• Expertise in time series forecasting, causal inference, and macro modeling.
• Experience with large-scale transactional or platform data.
• Ability to lead projects from scratch and translate questions into rigorous frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop macroeconomic models to forecast Robux money supply, velocity, and currency dynamics.
• Model currency exchange policies to balance global participation and developer incentives.
• Design and run counterfactual simulations to assess policy changes before execution.
• Analyze sink and faucet dynamics to balance liquidity and ecosystem health.
• Collaborate with Product and Finance to translate findings into strategy and roadmaps.
• Establish monitoring systems for real-time macro-health metrics and risk.
