Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA seeks an experienced Machinist Training Specialist to develop, coordinate, and deliver training for manual and CNC machinists in our Machine Shop. The role focuses on building strong technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness to support operational excellence and workforce development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent skilled trades experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to train and develop employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver technical training programs for manual and CNC machinists.
• Conduct hands-on instruction in machining practices, tooling, and measuring equipment.
• Maintain training materials, work instructions, presentations, assessments, and skill validation tools.
• Evaluate employee competency through practical demonstrations and written assessments.
• Coach and mentor trainees to enhance technical proficiency, safety, and quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing leaders to identify training needs and develop learning solutions.
• Support apprenticeship, onboarding, and upskilling programs.
