Job summary

Daikin Applied Ltd. in Staunton, VA seeks a Machinist Trainer to deliver classroom and hands-on training for new and transfer employees using ADDIE, BEM, and TWI-JI methods. You will write outlines, handouts, tests and design practical exercises to ensure effective skills transfer.

You will schedule sessions, administer exams, maintain training records, and drive safety, 5S and quality improvements across the dojo and production areas.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years combination of training experience and advanced capabilities in required skill set.
• Willingness to travel internationally 30-40% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Work with Manufacturing Skills Manager to establish dojo safety metrics and ensure compliance.
• Confer with management and quality staff to determine training objectives and standardize processes.
• Create training programs using ADDIE, BEM, and TWI-JI with outlines, handouts, tests, and hands-on exercises.
• Schedule classes based on skills requirements and trainee availability with local management.
• Provide classroom and hands-on training to new and transfer employees.
• Administer exams and measure learning transfer with feedback and remediation as needed.
• Maintain training records; conduct annual file audits and implement corrective actions.
• Uphold 5S in the dojo training area; participate in Kaizen, RCCA, CPI and NPI projects.
• Assist ASME-certified sites with external audits to maintain qualification.
• Pursue ongoing training to improve skills related to Daikin Systems (PDS) and quality.

Under general direction, they will provide classroom and hands-on training, TWI-JI training, training evaluation, performance improvement projects, new trainer training, and factory ASME qualification support. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
