GE Vernova in the Town of Rotterdam is offering a Machinist Technician position that combines rigorous training and academic studies at Hudson Valley Technical College. This 2-year program features on-the-job training alongside classroom time, ensuring students gain the essential knowledge and skills required. GE partnered with Hudson Valley to create the Machinist Technician Technology Program (MTTP) which combines both academic studies and on-the-job training to develop the fundamentals required to become a skilled machinist with GE Power machine tools. Students will attend class at Hudson Valley 4‑days a week and report to the GE Schenectady site 1‑day a week for training during the fall and spring semester. Students will train full‑time during a summer semester through an internship, and will be eligible for employment as a GE machinist following graduation.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision
The pay for this position is $28.01 per hour. This position is also eligible for shift premium when you work on an off shift i.e. 2nd or 3rd shift. Plus $1.00 USD an hour on top of base pay.
