The role supports production by interpreting drawings, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment to uphold quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machining in a high-technology environment.

• Swing Shift: Monday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM

Skills Required

Primary (Must-Have)

• Minimum 5+ years of machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC and conventional machining centers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications.
• Strong experience performing complex machine setups and precision machining operations.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, and surface plates.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentoring skills.

Secondary (Good to Have)

• Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Certified Machine Operator or other machining-related certifications.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Familiarity with PMR, TORS, ERP systems, or other manufacturing software.
• Experience assisting with tooling design and manufacturing process improvements.

The Machinist Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining conventional and CNC machining centers to manufacture precision components with close tolerances and complex geometries. This role supports production by interpreting engineering drawings, troubleshooting machining issues, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is an experienced machinist with strong technical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to work independently while mentoring junior team members.

CNC & Precision Machining

• Set up, adjust, and operate conventional and CNC machining centers.
• Perform complex machining operations involving close tolerances and intricate dimensional requirements.
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Adapt tooling and machining methods to support specialized production requirements.
• Perform advanced machine setups using custom fixtures and work-holding devices.

Blueprint Interpretation & Process Development

• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Develop machining processes where documentation is limited.
• Work with Engineering to resolve drawing discrepancies, improve product designs, and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Assist in tooling selection and process development.

Quality Control & Inspection

• Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
