Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Machinist for the Weekend Shift (Sat & Sun, 5am–3pm). You will operate production machines from blueprints and route sheets, perform various machining tasks, and ensure parts meet specifications.

You will also inspect parts, maintain safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in a team setting. Qualifications include HS diploma, 1–3 years of machine shop experience, reading blueprints, and good English communication.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years general or related machine shop experience.
Manual dexterity.
Ability to read and understand work instructions or blueprints.
Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
Effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with others as a team player.

Responsibilities

Operate production machines from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.
Perform repetitive machine operations and rework parts as needed.
Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures.
Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut for quality parts.
Perform reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, and related tasks.
Visually inspect parts for burrs and damage.
Remove burrs and defects from machined parts.
Inspect parts for conformance using gauges and measurements.
Follow SPC requirements and maintain clean work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Machinist

Weekend Shift Hours - Saturday & Sunday (5am - 3pm)

Position Summary/Essential Functions

With direct guidance in a team environment, the Machinist is responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.

Responsibilities

Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts. Make minor adjustments and report improper machine functioning, or cutting action, to team for correction and improvement.
Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.
Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
Perform operations such as reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.
Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts.
Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gages or other measuring instruments.
Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1-3 years general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
Must be able to read and understand work instructions or blueprints.
Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
