Job summary

FDC Machine Repair Inc in Parma, Ohio is seeking a Manual Boring Mill Machinist to join our team. We rebuild/repair metal forming equipment for a variety of customers in the metal forming industry.

The role requires reading blueprints, adjusting equipment with precision tools, and performing OD/ID machining on various steels and bronzes while adhering to safety practices and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a manual machinist
• Ability to read blueprints or job orders and make minor adjustments
• Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints or job orders and adjust equipment as needed, often with precision tools
• Check final products for accuracy, and adjust machines as needed to ensure the best final product
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Ability to perform OD & ID machining on multiple types of steel and bronze
• Experience with both small and larger materials
• Monitoring machine speeds and feeds, material rotation, depth cuts
• Ability to adjust equipment for out of tolerance. Report any malfunctions with supervisors
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environment
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Adheres to safe working practices

Physical Requirements

Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. maximum with assistance. Frequently lift, carry and manipulate up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, kneeling and occasional climbing on 12-foot ladders and scaffolding. Works around fumes, odors and dust in an occasionally high noise level environment with appropriate personal protective equipment.
