Responsibilities
  • Sets up repeat jobs on production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment.
  • Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches work holding fixtures, cutting tools, clamps, accessories, and other materials on machines.
  • Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to utilize various measuring tools including optical comparator, and mechanical tools such as micrometers.
  • Identifies issues or out-of-tolerance conditions; adjusts offsets of machine to correct errors or maintain tolerances as needed.
  • Deburrs and cleans parts as needed.
  • Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup and fills out required paperwork.
  • Starts or restarts equipment after power outages or interruptions.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly production area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certificate in Machine Tool or related Trade preferred but not required.
  • At least one year of experience is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs, drawings, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of geometric tolerances and how they are applied.
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc and Yasnac controls preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Ability to keep a clean and organized work area.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical ability to operate machines.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
