Job summary

Stock Manufacturing & Design in Cleves, OH is seeking a Machinist/Laser Operator for 1st shift (Mon-Thu 5:00 am–3:00 pm). This role involves set up and operation of CNC press brake, CNC machining and laser operations at the Cleves location.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing / production or similar environment preferred.
• Experience in machine operator roles/laser operator such as CNC Machinery/CI Laser, Brake Presses, and/or Saws.
• Must be able to work well with others, jump in where needed, and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC press brake, CNC machining and laser operations to set up and run parts.
• Produce quality parts using Brake Press, CNC Machining, and Saw by verifying dimensions and material specs.
• Maintain a clean and orderly department; perform preventive maintenance on machines as needed.
• Adjust machines, set up dies and fixtures, and plan sequence of operations.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain reliable attendance and meet daily production goals.

This Machine Operator will be based at the Cleves location. The hours are Monday – Thursday from 5 am - 3:00 pm.

JOB SUMMARY: The Machinist/Laser Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of CNC Press Brake operations, saw, CNC machining and laser operations.

Job Duties:

• Produce quality parts using the Brake Press machine (Verifying parts: dimensions, angles, material gauge and type)
• Produce quality parts using CNC machining (Verifying parts: dimensions, angles, material gauge and type)
• Produce quality parts using the Saw (Verifying parts: dimensions, angles, material gauge and type)
• Maintain a clean and orderly department (garbage/scrap removal, sweeping, wiping down machines)
• Operator Preventive Maintenance on machines as needed
• Bend, form, stretch, notch, punch and/or straighten metal to meet job requirements and quality on part.
• Sets stops on machine bed, change dies, and adjust components as needed.
• Plan sequence of operations to achieve desired result.
• Measure workpieces and inspect workpiece for defects.
• Maintains reliable and regular attendance.
• Perform standard laser cutting operations.
• Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
• Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• May work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Achieve established production goals by maintaining efficient workflow, minimizing downtime, and meeting daily schedule requirements.
• Maintain quality standards by identifying and correcting potential defects, minimizing rework, and ensuring completed parts meet customer specifications, company quality standards, and required quantity counts before release.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in manufacturing / production or similar environment preferred
• Previous experience in a machine operator role/laser operator such as CNC Machinery/CI Laser, Brake Presses, and/or Saws
• Must be able to work well with others, jump in where needed, and lead by example
