The Machinist III at VSE Aviation will perform alteration tasks on civil aviation articles, following manufacturer data and FAA guidance. You will also develop and duplicate tooling as required to support production and repair operations.
You will routinely inspect components, use precision measuring equipment, and operate a range of machines including lathes, mills, CNCs, saws, grinders, and drills. On-site work with occasional forklift use is expected.
SUMMARY: The Machinist III will perform alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA. In addition to that, the machinist will also develop, duplicate, and manufacture tooling equipment as required.
