Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a Machinist II to perform machining operations for aircraft engine components. Based in Stuart, FL, this onsite role requires operating manual, CNC, and EDM machines, setting tools, and maintaining tight tolerances according to process sheets.

Ideal candidates will have 3 years of manufacturing experience, be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time, and comply with ITAR/EAR regulations. Safety and training duties may also be part of the role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

  • Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools.
  • Loads and deletes programs in the computer.
  • Maintains tolerances and inspects parts with gauges or fixtures.
  • Keeps work area neat and safe; follows all safety rules.
  • Assists with training of other employees as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

About the Opportunity

The Machinist II position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components.

Location: Stuart, FL - Onsite. Friday to Sunday, 6 AM to 6 PM (5% Shift Differential).

Responsibilities
  • Operates all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets
  • Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required
  • Loads and deletes programs in the computer
  • Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
  • Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
  • Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions
  • Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions
  • Assists with related training of other employees as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full‑time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge with VTLs, specifically Doosan and/or Okuma
  • Knowledge and ability to use machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry
Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually middling.
