Job summary

CIRCOR is seeking a skilled machinist to semi and finish grind ODs on rotors, shafts and gears in a safe, efficient manner. You will inspect sizes, finishes and radii, and properly complete paperwork while monitoring coolant and maintaining housekeeping.

The role requires lifting and moving parts, operating multiple grinders and inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers, with attention to detail and adherence to finish drawings and standards.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma – with 1-3 years machining experience preferred.
  • Technical Degree in Machining a plus
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions
  • Use of micrometer, dial caliper, profilometer and other precision measuring equipment
  • Lift, push and move parts; operate crane or forklift if required

With own judgement and minimal directions from others, produce a quality ground rotor in a safe and efficient manner. Grind all diameters on all rotors, shafts, etc. Inspect sizes, lengths, finishes, radii, etc. Properly fill-out all paperwork, monitor coolant, and keep good housekeeping.

Principal Activities

Operate one, two, or more machines including: NCCG, CYC, lapper, etc. Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometer, dial caliper, profilometer, etc. to inspect rotor, shafts, ring gears, and various other parts. Operate electric or air-power crane/forklift.

Candidate Requirements

Lift, pull, and push. Continuously, walk or move from one machine to as many as three. Physically, load and unload parts. Deburr utilizing a file, or other hand tool such as die grinder. Clean parts and centers of chips and wipe dry. Physically, lift and check all dimensions, machine to conform with finish drawing. Make adjustment on machine as needed to produce quality parts within specifications and standards given/per piece. Utilize multi-function electric or air-crane (where available) to lift/move/load/unload parts, to perform workcenter functions. Step up to and down from elevator work platform and on to various parts of machine for wheel changes and cleaning.

Responsibilities

Compliance with all rules and regulations, normal safety precautions. Work alone, recognize, and immediately correct machine difficulties or errors; or, cause to have corrected; if fault is due to machine tool, equipment, or material. Maintain a clean, safe, efficient work area. Maintain all paperwork as needed. Consistently produce work of proper quality and required quantity.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions. Must be able to fill out forms as needed such as: daily labor report, log sheet, etc. Use of mathematics, reading fairly complicated drawings, specifications, charts, etc

Education & Experience

HS Diploma – with 1-3 years machining experience preferred.
Technical Degree in Machining a plus
