Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Safety

• Inspection and documentation
  • Inspect in‑process product and ensure it meets requirements.
  • Make adjustments to machine tools to meet specifications.
  • Document measurements on inspection sheets when required.
• Knowledge of machine tools, equipment, materials, and inspection methods.
• Operate and document processes on a variety of equipment.
• Use multiple brands of controls such as Fanuc, Hurco, Mazak, Milltronics, and Mitsubishi as well as others.
• Run manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and problems and develop creative solutions.
• Understand different materials and how they react to different machining methods.
• Know cutting tools, grades, coatings, and geometries and how they affect machining.
• Apply GD&T and use appropriate inspection methods and tools.
• Use multiple machining techniques to balance cost, quality, and productivity.
• Be productive and efficient when running jobs.
• Program, set‑up and operate a variety of machine centers including lathes, large and small mills, grinders, hones, and related CNC centers.
• Strive for Bartell excellence.
• Increase product knowledge, try new ideas and machining techniques, train others, and work in other departments if requested.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of machining experience or a strong aptitude for machining demonstrated by past experience.
