Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Tupelo, Mississippi, is seeking a Machinist to join the GA-EMS group. Under supervision, you will run multi-axis CNC machines to produce production parts and set up simple parts on 2-4 axis machines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or technical/trade training required.
  • Two or more years related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool wear and replacement.
  • Ability to perform semi-routines set-ups on 2-4 axis CNC machines.

Responsibilities

  • Run production to print on multi axis CNC machines.
  • Set up and produce 1st piece on semi complex parts with 2-4 axis CNC machines.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, comparators, height gauges to ensure part quality.
  • Clean machine and work area; deburr parts.
  • Perform gathering/building cutting tools, fixtures, and raw material.
  • Operate CNC or manual machines and inspect parts using blue print dimensions and prescribed gauges.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with GA procedures.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) Group located in Tupelo, MS.

Under general supervision with detailed instructions, this position is responsible for running multi axis CNC machines to produce production parts or tooling. With minimum oversight, this position will be asked to set up simple parts on 2-4 axis CNC machines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Run production to print and budget on multi axis CNC machines.

  • Set up and produce 1st piece on semi complex parts with 2-4 axis CNC machines.

  • Use standard measuring devises, such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, height gages, and ect. to ensure the quality of the parts.

  • Clean machine and work area.

  • Deburr parts

  • Perform gathering/building cutting tools, fixtures, and raw material.

  • After complete instructions, operates CNC or manual machines and inspect parts utilizing blue print dimensions and prescribed gages.

  • Monitor and verifies quality in accordance with GA procedures.

  • Prepares and saw cuts raw material.

  • May layout, fabricate, and assemble components.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
