In this role, you will fabricate high‑tolerance aerospace components for A220 and A320 aircraft. The Machinist - Level II is an experienced role that will work with advanced multi‑axis CNC equipment and classic manual machinery (milling machines and lathes) to shape the future of flight. On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.
Operates with a high degree of autonomy to execute complete setups, programming, and precision machining on complex 3- and 5- axis CNC mills, multi‑axis manual lathes, and specialized grinders. Serving as a technical resource, this role independently manages advanced material runs (including Titanium and pre‑hardened steels), edits G‑code, troubleshoots files, and collaborates across Engineering and Quality teams to ensure strict adherence to aerospace tolerances.
