Job summary

Southwire Company is seeking a skilled machinist to operate manual lathe and milling machines, set up fixtures, and perform primary operations on metal or plastic parts. You will read shop drawings, interpret tolerances, and maintain production records to meet quality standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years’ experience with manual milling and lathe operations, along with safety compliance and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating a manual mill and a manual lathe.
• Ability to read shop drawings and measurement tools accurately.
• Must perform basic math calculations and understand safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathe/milling machines and perform primary operations.
• Set up equipment and readprints to determine sequence and tolerances.
• Maintain run time and production records and ensure quality checks are passed.
• Follow 5S and safety procedures, wear PPE, and report hazards.
• Assist in additional duties to meet department objectives.
