Job summary

Primesource-Building-Products is seeking a Machinist to join its production and R&D teams on a busy shop floor. You will operate CNC and Swiss machines and record production data as part of a cross-functional effort to improve quality and efficiency.

This full-time, hourly non-exempt role (40–45 hrs/week, M-F) requires reading part drawings, using measurement tools, performing basic PMs, machine set ups, and lifting up to 50 lbs while collaborating with others.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC or Swiss machines.
• Ability to read and understand parts drawings.
• Strong mathematical skills with decimals and conversions.
• Proficient with measurement tools such as calipers.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with teammates.

Job description

The Machinist will work with other team members throughout all departments to perform excellent work and continuously improve. The job will consist primarily of working in a Production/R&D shop floor environment which includes various CNC machines and Swiss machines. Work will also include recording production data.

Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Position Type: Full-time Hours : 40-45 hrs Schedule: M-F

Reports to: Production Manager

Key Roles

• Work to standard: Perform work to standards for safety, quality, and time while identifying abnormalities.
• Organize work area: Maintain and improve organization and cleanliness of work area.
• Solve problems: Support the team in solving problems for customers and improving processes.
• Basic Machine PM’s: Regular care and preventative maintenance of machines.
• Machine set ups and adjustments: Set up and changeover of machines.
• Willingness to learn
• Able to work independently and with others
• Able to collaborate and communicate well
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to operate CNC and/or Swiss machines
• Proficient with measurement tools
