Qualifications

• Requires 1–3 years of machining experience with CNC equipment.
• Experience with mill-turn and multi-axis machines, Swiss machines, and Mazak/Integrex is a plus.
• Strong tooling, fixturing, chucking, and workholding skills; programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run SOPs on multiple axis CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot process problems with Manufacturing Services.
• Change perishable tooling as needed.
• Install new tool holders.
• Set up CNC machines following instructions.
• Inspect parts following inspection plans.
• Communicate status of cell operations to teammates.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Troubleshoot tooling as required.
• Workholding and fixturing setup.

Hartzell Propeller is the leading manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems for general aviation, supplying propeller systems for aircraft manufacturers and modifiers around the world. General Machinist Responsibilities

The CNC Machinist is responsible to operate one or more machine tools or special purpose machines to machine metal parts to required specifications in a state of the art manufacturing facility.

Typical Machinist Job Activities

1. 1) Run Standard operating procedures on multiple axis machines
2. 2) Contact Manufacturing Services to troubleshoot process problems
3. 3) Change perishable tooling when required
4. 4) Install new tool holders
5. 5) Follow set up instructions to set up CNC machines
6. 6) Follow inspection plans to inspect parts
7. 7) Communicate to co-workers on status of cell operations
8. 8) Participate in continuous improvement activities
9. 9) Troubleshoot tooling as required
10. 10) Work holding (fixturing – chucking)

Requirements

Machinist Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required; 1-3 years of experience
