Job summary

International Gamco seeks an experienced Machinist (Maintenance) to fabricate, repair, rebuild and maintain production equipment. You will work with Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance in our Omaha facility.

The role requires strong machining skills, blueprint reading, and experience with CMMS documentation practices. Prior CNC, welding, and metal fabrication are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology, Precision Machining, Industrial Maintenance or related technical field preferred.
  • Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of machining experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience repairing high-speed manufacturing or printing equipment preferred.
  • Proficient with manual mills, lathes, drill presses and surface grinders.
  • CNC machining experience is a plus; welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders and drill presses.
  • Fabricate precision replacement parts, tooling, and machine components to exact specifications.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild mechanical systems on printing presses, finishing equipment, conveyors and production machinery.
  • Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication for repairs, machine guards, brackets and components.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Repair and replace bearings, gears, shafts, belts, chains, bushings, couplings and seals.
  • Maintain CMMS records and fabrications documentation; keep a clean, safe shop.

We're looking for an experienced Machinist (Maintenance) who thrives on solving mechanical challenges and takes pride in precision craftsmanship. What You'll Do

As a Machinist (Maintenance), you'll fabricate, repair, rebuild and maintain production equipment while partnering with Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities Include
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders and drill presses.
  • Fabricate precision replacement parts, tooling, and machine components to exact specifications.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild mechanical systems on printing presses, finishing equipment, conveyors and production machinery.
  • Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication for repairs, machine guards, brackets and custom components.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Repair and replace bearings, gears, shafts, belts, chains, bushings, couplings, seals and other mechanical components.
  • Assist with equipment installations, rebuilds, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain maintenance records, parts inventories and fabrication documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe machine shop while following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with departmental teams to quickly resolve equipment issues.
  • Other duties as required.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys precision machining, solving mechanical problems and making a direct impact on manufacturing operations.

  • Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology, Precision Machining, Industrial Maintenance or a related technical field preferred.
  • Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of machining experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience repairing high-speed manufacturing or printing equipment is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience operating manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, drill presses and surface grinders.
  • CNC machining experience is a plus.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems, power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and machine components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and maintaining close tolerances.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
