Job summary

DuPont Newark site is seeking a Machine Shop Operator to set up and operate a wide range of machine tools, including CNC and manual grinders and lathes. You will read prints, verify setups with gauges, and ensure tolerances while maintaining safe practices on the shop floor.

You will work on multiple projects, adjust speeds, feeds, and depths, and contribute to productivity improvements. Overtime, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; machinist license preferred.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills with Fanuc controllers.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances; perform shop math.
• Proficient in using precision gauges and measuring equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates manual and CNC equipment.
• Reads prints and verifies setup against tolerances.
• Uses precision gauges to inspect parts during production.
• Manages multiple projects and controls machining factors.
• Leads troubleshooting and problem solving to minimize errors.
• Trains teammates and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
