Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of machinist experience.
  • Experience with manual machine tools operations.
  • Proficient with lathe or mill operations and measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical drawings.
  • Proficient with calipers, gauges, micrometers and other precision tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Machine products to tight tolerances using established procedures.
  • Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, templates and layouts.
  • Verify dimensions with calipers, gauges and micrometers.
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances; lay out work pieces.
  • Set up machine tools for operators.
  • Cross-train other technicians to support production needs.
  • Work independently and with team to ensure quality.
  • Observe all safety practices and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:
  • Machine products to tight tolerances
  • Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed
  • Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
  • Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces
  • Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
  • Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
  • Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
  • Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
  • Observing all applicable safety practices
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • 3 years - 5 years experience as Machinist
  • Previous or current knowledge and experience with manual machine tools operations
  • Experienced with operating lathes or mills and using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers)
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical drawings
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred:
  • Preferred CNC or Manual Machinist Certification
  • VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision
