Ctspring in Farmington, CT is seeking a capable machine operator to support fabrication of tools and dies. You will read prints, set up equipment, and perform routine maintenance.

Requires basic machine skills, ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and adherence to safety standards. This position emphasizes accuracy, inventory control, and teamwork in a busy shop environment.

Formación

• High School diploma or trade school completion or demonstrated equivalent skills.
• Minimum of two years in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read prints and low level blueprints.
• Ability to use standard measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers).
• Ability to make independent judgment decisions.

Responsabilidades

• Sets up and operates standard equipment to prepare raw material for fabrication.
• Grease, oil, clean, replace blades and wheels to maintain equipment.
• Operate material handling devices and move raw materials as needed.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials in the work area and conduct audits.
• Adhere to safety standards, company policies, and housekeeping expectations.
• Attend as required and assist where needed.

Requires direction working to prints, sketches or verbal instructions cutting material for multiple department use in the fabrication of tools, dies, machine parts, etc. Maintaining machinery and equipment used in the process.

Position Responsibilities

Description of Duties

Machine

• Basic machine skills (horizontal cut off saws, band saws, pedestal grinder, deburr equipment, etc.
• Sets-up and operates standard equipment (as listed above) to prepare raw material for the fabrication of multiple components serving multiple CSS departments.
• Grease, oil, clean, replace blades, grinding wheels, sanding belts etc. in order to maintain all equipment located within the work area.

Safety

• Utilizes all PPE as prescribed for the position and execution of duties and tasks.
• Maintains required records (if required).

Other

• Operates material handling devices in the movement of raw material.
• Maintains all raw material inventories within the work area.
• Responsible for inventory of all raw materials within the work area.
• Conducts quarterly inventory audits reporting results to CSS finance.
• Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
• Assist where needed.
• Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• High School, Trade School graduate or demonstrated equivalent skills.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, sketches, low level blueprints, etc.
• Ability to use standard measurement equipment (6\" scale, 12\" scale, dial caliper, micrometer, tape measure)
• Ability to make independent judgment decisions.

Physical Requirements

• Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for required work.
• Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
• Ability to lift objects from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally from

position-to-position.

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted
