Job Summary
The Machinist A position will program, set‑up, and operate computer numerically controlled lathes and/or mills to fabricate metal parts.

Essential Job Functions
- Study and interpret drawings, shop manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Identify required tooling, set gauges, and perform machine set‑up based on job requirements.
- Program CNC lathes and/or mills based on part drawings.
- Manufacture parts as outlined on drawings and part specifications.
- Inspect parts to confirm conformance to specifications.
- Perform daily and monthly maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to all HSES procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other job‑related tasks as needed.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Physical Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years’ experience programming and operating CNC lathes and/or mills.
- Prefer experience with Mazak and Haas CNC lathes.
- CNC Machine Operator Certificate preferred.
- Basic math skills, including proficiency with geometry and trigonometry for material fabrication calculations.
- Strong command of blueprint reading including understanding of engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used for machining.
- Strong work ethic, professional attitude, detailed‑oriented, and reliable.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
