Qualifications

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints, GD&T.
  • Proficient reading/verbal instructions in English.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Eligible to work in an ITAR environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and oversee CNC machines (mills, lathes, vertical centers, grinders). Run 1–4 machines simultaneously.
  • Adjust machine controls, tool offsets, and monitor tolerances.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions; review technique cards and work orders.
  • Secure fixtures, attachments, and accessories.
  • Calculate machine parameters (speed, coolant, depth, angle of cut).
  • Document scrapped parts or machine issues; report to peers and management.
  • Verify finished parts against specifications; complete First Article Inspection reports.
  • Use CMM and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges).
  • Report machine failures, spills, accidents, and safety concerns.
  • Participate in P5S initiatives, maintain a clean machine area.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety programs and train others.
  • Cross‑train on 3/5 axis CNC and diamond tooling.
  • Write, test, edit, and troubleshoot programs for prototypes and new specifications.
  • Interact with production management, engineers, and quality team to propose improvements.
  • Assume additional projects as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years CNC experience or on‑the‑job training with a 2‑year Machine Technology certificate.
  • Proficient reading/verbal instructions in English.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions).
  • Read mechanical drawings/blueprints, GD&T.
  • Vision and depth perception suitable for inspection microscopes.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand or walk extended periods.
  • Mentor/train or lead operators and machinists.
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Eligible to work in an ITAR environment.
Physical Activities

Regular standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional sitting, kneeling, crouching. Continuous handling, reaching, talking, hearing.

Environmental Conditions

Moderate noise; occasional exposure to moving parts, fumes, airborne particles. Compliance with ITAR and EAR regulations.
