Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Machinist to write, edit, and operate manual and CNC equipment on the 3rd shift (Sun-Thu, 10:30p–7:00a). The role includes routine maintenance and setting up complex machine tools such as horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of manual machining experience, familiarity with G and M codes, and may hold trade school or machining certificates. Proficiency with Fanuc is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience with manual machines.
  • Trade school education/certificate preferred.
  • Machining certificates as equipment requires.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Microsoft packages.
  • G and M code understanding.
  • Preferred experience with Fanuc controllers.
  • Preferred experience with O-M VTLs; Sip/K&T/Shibaura/Ikegai Mills
  • Preferred manual machining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently set up and operate all common machine tools and equipment.
  • Can machine parts using horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Perform simple to complex machine setups with little to no assistance.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics.
  • Solid working knowledge of machine tools/parts, set up, operation and maintenance.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

As a Machinist, you will write, edit, and operate manual and CNC equipment. This role also has responsibility to perform routine maintenance of equipment. Additional duties may apply as required.

Shift: 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday 10:30p-7:00a

Shift Differential: Additional $2.50/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
