Job summary

GD Energy Products in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a Machinist for a third shift. The role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines and lathes on production parts, tooling, maintenance, and experiments.

The Friday–Sunday schedule runs 6 AM–6 PM CST, with compensation for a full 40 hours. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting cutting tools, inspecting parts, and maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and plans.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship required or minimum 1-year experience with CNC boring mill/lathe machines, including proper set up and operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
• Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.
• Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area.
• Comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with all company policies and rules; overtime, including potential nights and weekend shifts, may be required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Cross‑train other employees to run multiple workstations as needed.
• Show strong work ethic with reliability and dependability.

Job Summary

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
