Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking a Machinist for the 2nd shift (M-Th, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am) in St. Charles, MO. The role operates CNC and conventional machines to fabricate parts, loads parts, cycles machines, and monitors tool wear to ensure quality and efficiency.

You will run production lots, coordinate with teammates, and maintain a safe, clean work environment while supporting our quality policy and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States with ITAR/EAR clearance.
• Must have math skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Attention to detail and precision in measurements.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload parts on CNC machines to optimize spindle use.
• Inspect parts as they come off the machine.
• Deburr and blend machined parts.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines and fluids.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Read and interpret blueprints and measurement tools.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Machinist 2nd shift (M-Th, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am). The Machinist operates computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. Loads parts in machines, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains safe, organized and clean work environment. In all actions supports Sonaca North America's Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other Company policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load/unload parts on CNC machines to support maximum spindle utilization time
• Inspect and monitor parts as they are completed on the machine.
• Deburr and blend all parts that are machined
• Perform daily maintenance on machines including: maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, wiping down machine to remove coolant, dust and debris.
• Maintain an organized clean and safe work environment.
• Other Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
• Math skills to perform basic calculations
• Read and interpret blue prints
• Demonstrate attention to detail
• Ability to read measuring equipment. (Calipers/Micrometers)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

• High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. International Traffic in Arms Regulation/Export Administration Regulations (ITAR/EAR) clearance is required.
• 2 Years' experience with CNC machining or Enrolled in Machining Program at a Technical College

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
• May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
