Job summary

GD Energy Products in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Machinist for 1st shift to set up, program and operate CNC lathes and mills. You will read blueprints, select tools, run production parts and ensure quality. The role may require overtime and weekend shifts, and offers benefits such as vacation and 401K matching.

High school diploma or vocational training is preferred; apprenticeship or CNC experience valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/technical training and apprenticeship required or 1 year CNC experience.
• Experience with CNC boring mill/lathe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify defects and ensure conformance; adjusts machine controls.
• Inspects machinery for repairs and performs minor repairs within expertise.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the work area.
• Complies with safety standards and regulations; overtime and weekend shifts may be required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Set up, program and operate various types of CNC machine and/or lathes, to perform operations on individual or quantity production, tooling, maintenance and/or experimental parts

Duties/Responsibilities

• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
• Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
• Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Regular attendance and compliance with all Company policies and rules is an essential function for the job. Overtime, including potential for nights and weekend shifts may be required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and plans.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship required or minimum 1-year experience with CNC boring mill/lathe machines which includes proper set up and operation.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
