Job summary

MKS Instruments in Colorado is offering a Machinist 1 conversion opportunity for a pre-identified temporary employee. You will partner with the machine shop, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and operations to maintain daily productivity and quality, reporting to the machine shop supervisor.

You will also participate in continuous improvement activities and support safe work practices. You will interpret blueprints and process sheets, set up and operate major conventional or automatic machines,

• 1+ year of related experience required.
• Must be current Temporary Employee at MKS doing the work of Machinist 1.
• Requires machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimals.

Responsibilities

• Assignment planning and setup for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines.
• Operate from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to produce precise metal parts.
• Check machining operations against tolerances and document results.
• Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a machinist 1 at MKS Instruments, you will partner with the machine shop team, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and the technical operations teams. You will be responsible for productivity, quality, and meeting the expected daily efficacies. In this role, you will report to the Machine shop supervisor.

This posting is for a conversion opportunity for a pre-identified temporary employee currently working at MKS.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Responsibilities include assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines
• Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
• Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances
• May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions

Required Skills:

• 1+ year of related experience required
• Must be current Temporary Employee at MKS doing the work of Machinist 1
• Requires machine shop experience, ability to add and subtract decimals

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 60% of the time
• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
• Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
