Summary
Set up, operate, or tend horizontal and vertical lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal. Perform in process inspection. Coordinate with engineering and quality for processing of ECR and NCR documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setup and operation of vertical and horizontal engine lathes and honing machines
- Setup and operation of horizontal CNC turning equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Performs a variety of non-destructive tests; takes measurements, records conformance/non-conformance, on initial piece, in process and upon final inspection
- Reviews procedures, layouts, templates, jigs, incoming parts, assemblies and related tasks
- Reviews and assists with development of all job related JSA's/Work Instructions
- Cranes - lifts equipment safely, knows where disconnect switches are, performs daily crane inspections, loads and unloads trucks, stages equipment
- Forklift - drive safely, load and unload, refuel, perform daily forklift inspections
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, associates degree or technical certificate preferred.
- Reading/Writing skills (literacy) as required
- 5+ years experience with set-up, operation, and maintenance of CNC and Manual turning centers.
- Experience with rigging, welding, milling, and industrial safety practices preferred.
- Able to read mechanical blueprints, familiarity with electrical schematics is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret G & M-Code.
- MAZATROL & Siemens Programming experience preferred
- CAM Programming experience preferred, MasterCAM
