Job summary

Bedford Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled machinist to support engineering and production in Worthington, MN. You will operate lathes, milling machines and grinders, program CNC mills and lathes, and verify parts against blueprints and specifications.

The role requires reading blueprints, basic CAD understanding, precise measurement, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Shift options include 4pm-12am or 12am-8am, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, plans and specs.
• Based on blueprints, perform setup and tolerance checks.
• Read and interpret specifications and geometry for parts.

Responsibilities

• Operates lathes, milling machines and grinders to produce parts.
• Program and run CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Document actions in production and quality logs.

Job description

This position would be for either the 4pm-12am or 12am-8am shift.

The machinists work closely with our Engineering and Production departments to create parts for our manufacturing equipment.

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications
• Operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to produce parts
• Programming and running CNC mills and CNC lathes
• Basic understanding of G code
• Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job
• Maintains specifications by taking measurements with proper measuring devices
• Troubleshoot equipment
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
• Other duties as assigned

• Precision Machining or similar technical degree preferred
• Intermediate math skills

• Understand computer software programs such as CAD
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders

The salary range for this position is: $52,000 - $65,000. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: [outline benefits such as bonus, paid time off, 401K, medical, dental … etc.]
