Job summary

Qualified Professional and Technical in Winchester, VA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for 1st shift. The role involves setting up and operating manual and CNC tools, and reading complex blueprints.

You will modify G-code, perform in-process inspections, and ensure safety. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a machine shop, completed an apprenticeship, and is proficient with various metal types.

Shift times 7:00-3:30; overtime may be required; teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machinist experience in a machine shop or similar environment.
• Apprenticeship program completion is required.
• Above-average mathematical skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Experience with multiple machine tools and CNC tooling.
• Ability to read/interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T basics is a plus.
• Must be able to work safely with potentially dangerous equipment.

CNC MACHINIST-1st shiftDirect HireWinchester, VA$25-35/hr. based on experience The CNC machinist must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will be able to comprehend complex blueprints, have in-depth knowledge of all traditional machine tools as well as modern CNC machines. Experience with many types of metal, their properties and how to process them is a must.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate manual machine tools
• Setup and operate CNC machine tools

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a CNC machinist in a machine shop or similar environment
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program
• Above average mathematical skills
• Experience using a variety of machine tools
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, overhead cranes, etc.)
• Ability to use all manual inspection tools
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (mask, safety glasses, gloves etc.) when required
• Ability to work with a team and effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors, resolve or escalates issues in a timely fashion
• Be in good physical condition
