Job summary

sg360° is seeking a Machinist on 2nd Shift to perform mechanical maintenance of printing presses and related equipment in a fast-paced plant environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience or 2 years plus relevant trade training, and must be able to lift up to 65 pounds, read blueprints, and operate precision tools. This role offers union wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three to five years mechanical maintenance experience, or two years with relevant trade training or classroom instruction.
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds; climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch as required.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Familiar with precision measuring instruments and mechanical alignment.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; experience with metalworking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain presses and other mechanical equipment to maximize production time.
• Diagnose mechanical press malfunctions and perform repairs to keep equipment in production.
• Perform installation/relocation tasks including dismantling and alignment of machines.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on presses, equipment, buildings, and grounds.
• Inventory parts, prepare lists, and order supplies; maintain records.

We are seeking a Machinist to work on 2nd Shift who will provide mechanical maintenance of printing presses and general equipment in the plant and office area; to provide preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain presses and other mechanical equipment used in production or other related services, maximizing production time and minimizing down time.
• Diagnose mechanical press malfunctions or operating problems and make repairs or adjustments as necessary to keep equipment in production.
• Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment which may involve dismantling, assembling, leveling, fitting and aligning operations.
• Perform maintenance on buildings (including HVAC), facilities, and the grounds as required.
• Perform all necessary preventative maintenance activities on presses, other mechanical equipment, buildings, and grounds.
• Inventory parts and supplies and compile parts list needed to complete rebuilding activities on equipment and submit list to Maintenance Supervision so that parts may be ordered.
• Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, records, documents, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform work and duties to meet our production needs and to provide superior customer satisfaction.
• Report your time and production results accurately, be on time to work, work overtime when requested to meet the needs of our customers.
• Improve your skills, suggest improvements, cooperate with other departments, and improve your knowledge of sg360° and the graphic arts industry.
• Follow proper work procedures, comply with company policies and obey safety and security rules.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Three (3) to five (5) years of mechanical maintenance experience, or two (2) years of experience combined with relevant trade training or classroom instruction.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 65 pounds.
• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch as required.
• Ability to work in environments that may be hot, humid, or dusty.
• May be exposed to controlled, non-toxic mists or vapors.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and various units of measurement; may use a calculator.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and understand precision fits and mechanical alignment.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as metalworking equipment such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
