Great Basin Industrial, Plymouth, UT, is seeking a skilled Fabrication Machinist to join our team in the Oil & Energy sector. This full-time, hourly position offers $18-$34 per hour depending on experience.

Operate CNC and manual machinery to fabricate metal parts from blueprints, inspect finished work, and maintain a safe, clean workstation. Must read drawings, use calipers and micrometers, and collaborate with the fabrication and engineering teams. Overtime and swing shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fabrication Machinist in heavy industrial fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong CNC operation, programming, and manual machining knowledge.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Location: Plymouth, UT

GBI in Plymouth, UT is seeking a skilled Fabrication Machinist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued growth and success within the Oil & Energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machining equipment to fabricate high-quality metal parts and components according to specified blueprints and technical drawings.
• Set up machines including CNC and manual machinists tools to perform tasks such as drilling, cutting, and shaping metal materials.
• Inspect finished parts for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
• Collaborate closely with the fabrication team and engineering to optimize processes and resolve machining issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and perform routine preventative maintenance on machining tools.
• Document production activities and report progress, issues, and recommendations to supervisors.

• Proven experience as a Fabrication Machinist or similar role in the oil and energy industry or heavy industrial fabrication.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machinery operation, programming, and manual machining techniques.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
• Ability to adhere to strict safety standards and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (8–12+ hour shifts)
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for prolonged periods
• Reach overhead and work with arms extended
• Climb ladders, work in manlifts up to 25 feet above ground
• Work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when required

Work Environment

• Exposure to dust, noise, and industrial hazards

• Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, or swing shifts as needed to meet project deadlines
