Job summary

Janicki Industries is seeking a Machinist to join our on-site Sedro-Woolley, WA team. You will set up and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes, read blueprints, and maintain precision within tight tolerances.

We offer a $2 swing shift differential and $3 weekend day differential. The role requires safety discipline, 5S, and potential security clearance; experience with AS9100/Nadcap is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; trade school preferred.
• 6 months or more of operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operation, and maintenance of CNC and manual mills, lathes, and standard machine shop tools.
• Read blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders.
• Follow safety practices and keep a clean, 5S-compliant workspace.
• Support production across cells as needed (metal fab or mill cell).
• CNC editing on the shop floor.

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.

We are excited that Janicki's growth requires that we add Machinists to the team!

There is a $2 shift differential for all hours worked on the swing shift and $3 for weekend day shift.

Position Description

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

The Machinist performs a variety of duties and utilizes multiple skillsets. Machinists are required to follow detailed drawings and instructions. Set up, operation, and maintenance of CNC and manual mills, lathes, and standard machine shop tools are some of the daily tasks.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Machinist Technician:

• Attention to detail and quality is required
• Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders
• Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
• Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices
• Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function
• Set up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
• Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
• Knowledge and use of common hand tools
• Accurate use of precision measuring instruments (i.e.: micrometers, calipers, etc.,) and working to exacting tolerances
• Must understand and comply with Safety and 5S.
• Must understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable
• Works in other Cells to support Production as required, i.e., Metal Fab or Mill Cell.
• CNC Mill and Manual Mill set up, operation and maintenance.
• CNC Lathe and Manual Lathe set up, operation and maintenance.
• Mill/Lathe Operation includes Tooling knowledge, Calibrated equipment, machine operation, part loading and clamping, machine maintenance.
• CNC editing on the shop floor

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred.
• 6 months or more of operating machinery in a manufacturing environment required
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

• Wage range for this role is between $22 - $45 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
