Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Machinist in Santee, CA to set up and operate manual and CNC machines, read blueprints, and ensure quality and on-time production.

The role requires 2+ years of machinist experience, proficiency in blueprint reading and precision measurement, and the ability to work with Haas, Mazak or Okuma equipment. Competitive hourly wages and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or machining certification preferred.
• 2+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Skilled in blueprint reading, shop math, and use of precision measurement tools.
• Experience with manual machines, CNC mills, lathes, or similar equipment (brands like Haas, Mazak, Okuma a plus).
• Understanding of different metals, materials, speeds, feeds, and machining best practices.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and solid troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer literacy for machine operation and production documentation.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.
• Flexible to work overtime or multiple shifts based on production needs.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement.

• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed to minimize downtime.
• Record production data accurately, including work completed and materials used.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and quality teams to resolve production or quality concerns.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and safe machine operation.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and in line with lean manufacturing or 5S practices.

Schedules:

• 6 AM - 2:30 PM


• 2:30 PM - 11 PM
