Job summary

RANDYS Worldwide Riverside, California, seeks a hands-on Machinist to blend CNC tool room lathe work with Bridgeport-style milling, manual lathe, and fabrication. You’ll rework parts, design fixtures, and build tooling for assembly and machining operations.

Proficiency with CNC (HAAS TL-2) and manual machines, plus reading blueprints and GD&T, is essential. Welding is a plus; a strong eye for detail and safety is required to support our production needs.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of machining and fabrication experience in a production or job-shop environment, combining CNC and manual work.
  • CNC experience required, ideally on a CNC tool room lathe such as a HAAS TL-2; candidates with light/basic CNC experience and strong all-around machining skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven proficiency on manual machines, including a Bridgeport mill and manual lathe — indicating in work, dialing in setups, selecting speeds and feeds, and holding tight tolerances without hand-holding.
  • Comfort working from a digital readout as well as dials.
  • MIG and TIG welding experience on steel and aluminum is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to read and work from prints, including geometric tolerancing.
  • Command of precision measuring instruments and shop math, including trig for layout and setup.
  • Demonstrated ability to build fixtures and tooling from concept, not just to a finished drawing.
  • Self-direction and sound judgment — you can prioritize when three jobs land at once and know when to raise a question.
  • Reliable attendance and safety-first mindset
  • Computer proficiency including MS Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certifications a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a CNC tool room lathe (such as a HAAS TL-2) to produce production parts to print
  • Set up and operate manual machines, including a Bridgeport-style mill (DRO-equipped) and manual lathe, for production parts, rework, and prototype work
  • Run grinders, drill presses, saws, and other fabrication equipment as the job requires.
  • Rework and modify existing parts to bring them into spec or adapt them for new applications.
  • Design and fabricate fixtures, jigs, and tooling for assembly and machining operations, working from sketches, prints, or a verbal description of the problem.
  • Perform basic welding (MIG/TIG) on fixtures, tooling, and fabricated assemblies as needed — welding experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and engineering drawings.
  • Inspect your own work using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators, and document results as required
  • Maintain and troubleshoot shop equipment, coordinating with maintenance on larger repairs.
  • Work directly with engineering and production leads to improve part quality, cycle time, and process repeatability
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with all safety requirements.

Job description

Machinist

RANDYS Worldwide Riverside, California, United States

About this position

Summary:

RANDYS Worldwide builds drivetrain components for off-road and performance vehicles. We're looking for a hands-on, all-around machinist who can move between running a CNC tool room lathe, working manual mills and lathes, reworking existing inventory, and building the fixtures and tooling that keep our assembly line moving. This job blends CNC tool room lathe work (such as a HAAS TL-2) with manual machining — Bridgeport-style mill and manual lathe work, drill press, fabrication, and welding — and it suits someone who likes solving problems on the floor as much as running a part
