Job summary

Nammo Perry in Florida seeks a Machinist to set up and operate machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting cutting tools, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

You will work a Monday–Thursday 10-hour day schedule, participate in safety standards, and benefit from a company matching 401(k), employer-paid medical, HSA contributions, generous PTO and nine holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts.
• Reads blueprints and design sketches to ensure dimensions.
• Selects cutting tools and attachments for machines.
• Measures finished parts to identify defects and ensure specifications.
• Inspects machinery and performs minor repairs.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the work area.
• Follows safety standards and performs other duties as assigned.

Nammo Perry is a center of excellence for the design, development and production of munitions and pyrotechnic products for the U.S. Department of Defense. Nammo employees working at the Florida site manufacture all types of 40mm low and high velocity ammunition; pyrotechnic marking; signaling and tactical illumination devices; battlefield effects training simulators; demolition charges; hand grenade fuzes; and other ammunition components. Additionally, they provide load, assemble, and pack (LAP) services for large caliber direct-fire ammunition.

The Machinist will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments out of metal. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

What You'll Do: Precision in Action

• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.


• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.


• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.


• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.


• Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.


• Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.


• Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.
