Kennametal Stellite Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist to support and maintain equipment in the Kennametal Manufacturing Plant. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with various personnel, and developing tooling under the guidance of senior machinists.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, preferred completion of a machinist program, and four years of experience as a machinist. Key skills sought are CNC machining, manual machining, and various welding techniques.
This is a skilled trade position responsible for supporting and maintaining the building and all the equipment inside the Kennametal Manufacturing Plant. The individual will be interacting in a high‑pace environment alongside various plant personnel or independently repairing issues, making fixtures, developing tooling, and solving problems. The expectation for this position is to develop and grow into an experienced machinist role, training under the guidance of our senior machinist and learning how to use CNC lathes and mills while supporting other areas of the plant and making tooling and fixturing.
The individual must have a high school diploma or GED. Completion of a machinist or tool & die training program is preferred. Four years of experience working as a machinist or tool & die marker is preferred. The candidate must understand instructions, follow plant processes and procedures, plan, coordinate, and direct their work while prioritizing tasks. Flexibility to work overtime, including Saturdays, is required. Participation in the Spill Response program is required.
Environment with controlled temperatures and dust‑collection systems. Safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, and cut‑resistant gloves are required when necessary.
Approximately 8 hours standing/walking with two break opportunities per eight‑hour shift. Frequent reaching, climbing, and bending. Lifting up to thirty‑three pounds.
Gather and analyze information, utilize learned skills, and exercise critical reasoning to develop options and solve moderate to complex problems.
