Job summary

Sonoco Hartsville, SC is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate and program NC mills, set up fixtures, and inspect parts with precision. You will read blueprints, apply GD&T, and work with Esprit or MasterCam when possible.

You’ll collaborate across shifts, maintain safety practices, and adapt to changing workloads, with overtime as needed. A minimum of 5 years in machine shop environments is preferred; a technical degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with manual lathes, mills and grinders.
• Proficient in NC milling programming and setup.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Familiar with Esprit or MasterCam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program an NC Mill; set up machines and fixtures.
• Know speeds/feeds for various materials and tooling.
• Read standard and metric drawings; inspect parts with micrometers and calipers.
• Maintain safety standards and document shift handoffs.
• Willing to move between machines as workloads shift.
