Job summary

BW Papersystems is seeking a skilled Machinist to plan and perform a range of machining operations on various metal parts. You will measure, set up, and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment to meet exact specifications.

The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, a high school diploma or GED, and a commitment to safety. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered for experienced machinists. This is an on-site position in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform machining operations including rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting on shafts, housings and parts of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Machine parts to specifications using mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.
• Measure and test completed units with precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure correct execution of operational sequence.
• Set up and operate basic machine tools and advanced variation tools as needed.
• Align fixtures and tools, monitor feed and speed during machining.
• Select appropriate tools, machines and materials for machining tasks.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and report unsafe conditions.

BW Papersystems is Offering a $1,000 Sign On Bonus for experienced Machinists! Come Join our Team! In this role, you will plan and perform a normal range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. In addition, you will machine parts to specifications using tools such as mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a normal range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments like micrometers.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
• Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of operational sequence.
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machine process.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment, report and correct and unsafe work practices or conditions immediately.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Multi-task various duties throughout the day; maintain a positive attitude with versatility and flexibility.
• Communicate and interact with various teams and teammates to solve problems independently.

Basic Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working within a manufacturing environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $23/HR - $30/HR. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
